Ulkoleikki Stadissa project developed new methods for integrating children´s ideas and wishes into their daily surroundings. 16 nurseries have been reviewing their surroundings, developing ideas and learning how to implement them with available or easily obtainable resources.

The project has also aimed to re-introduce nature as a resource for adventurous outdoor play and creative projects and to visually demonstrate childrens´ownership towards their places.

I have been facilitating workshops for personnel and children and giving talks on particitopary design and how it can be applied to practice.

The project is by Helsinki Social Services Day Care Unit and is part of World Design Capital 2012 programme. Exhibition about the project is on 23.1.-28.3.2013 in Virka-Galleria, Helsinki.
