ERROR ENERGIA
Error Energia at AVAMAA
I was invited to join Error Collective for AVAMAA in Southern Estonian paradise. AVAMAA is a symposium for art and ideas hosted every summer by MoKS, an artist run organization and residency center in the rural village of Mooste Estonia. The central idea for AVAMAA 2012 is to create a temporary village from affordable recyclable and locally sourced materials. Moksville was constructed by five separate teams of artists, designers, architects and makers.
Error responded to the site, available resources and local community by building energy generating turbines atop an eight meter high tower. Error Energia served as focal point of the Moksville temporary village and demonstrated Error values of engaging the community through collective art production from available resources.
Towards the end of AVAMAA I built a tree house out of all the left over wood we had collected for Error tower. Equipped with a leg terrace and rope ladder and only one meter high - the tree house was a cosy, possibly tick free and an accessible space in the middle of the Moksville field, even for those afraid of heights (like myself).
Error collective for AVAMAA included; Mikko Laajola (Finland), Päivi Raivio (Finland), Justin Tyler Tate (Canada/Estonia), Ernest Truely (USA/Estonia).
